Below are some step-by-step directions to help you find us.
If at any point you need help, please give us a call on 01434 673 528.

DIRECTIONS FROM NORTH, EAST and WEST:
  • Follow the A69 to the Hexham BRIDGE END exit (sliproad onto roundabout).
  • Take the A6079 south into Hexham, crossing the River Tyne.

IN HEXHAM:
  • Pass straight over the first mini roundabout (Tyne Green).
  • Turn LEFT at the second mini roundabout.
  • Follow the road past the rail station & straight over a third mini roundabout immediately afterwards.
  • At the fourth mini roundabout (immediately after a pedestrian crossing, Bus Station a short distance away on the left) turn RIGHT.
  • On this street you will pass through a few sets of pedestrian crossings and pass various shops. Just after Cranstons Butchers and immediately before the Victorian Tap pub (formerly the Tap and Spile) turn LEFT onto the B6306 (note – narrow entrance).
  • The road climbs uphill. After a few hundred metres turn RIGHT onto the Dipton Mill Road, junction signed Whitley Chapel, Dye House & Juniper, and HGV Slaley & Blanchland (B6306).
  • The road now climbs steeply, eventually leaving Hexham behind.

FROM HEXHAM:
  • Continue to travel south on the Dipton Mill Road.
  • After climbing the road drops steeply down and at the bottom of the hill you will pass the Dipton Mill pub on the right hand side.
  • Climb (steeply at first) up the other side of the valley, until you reach a road junction signed Dalton & Whitley Chapel, and HGV Slaley & Blanchland (B6306). Turn LEFT here.
  • The road winds up and down, crossing two narrow river bridges. After the second you climb a short bank with a couple of houses on the right hand side. At the top, the road you are on bears left and a minor road joins from the right. The main road is signed Whitley Chapel and Slaley. Turn RIGHT onto the unsigned minor road (caution, the turn has poor visibility).
  • You are now on a minor road (you may notice an old sign reading No Through Road to Motor Vehicles – this is the correct way). Ignore the first turn on the left (tarmac drive) and continue a few hundred metres round the corner to find us on the left hand side. You will see our sign at the entrance. Congratulations, you made it!

Please note: if you reach Whitley Chapel, you have missed our turn off. Use directions above or below from Whitley Chapel to find us.

DIRECTIONS FROM the SOUTH:
If travelling north on the A1 or M6, travel via Carlisle or Tyneside to join the A69, and follow directions from Hexham as above. Customers travelling north on the A68 (i.e. from some parts of County Durham) may find it easier to travel using the following directions:

  • Follow the A68 North between Castleside and Kiln Pit Hill
  • Shortly after the Manor House Inn, take a left onto a minor road, signed Slaley, Barley Hill and Derwent Reservoir.
  • Follow signs for Slaley and Slaley Hall Hotel, firstly passing Slaley Hall Hotel entrance, then entering and travelling through the entirety of Slaley village.
  • At the T junction at the top of Slaley village turn RIGHT onto the B6306, signed Corbridge and Hexham.
  • After a couple of miles, just after passing the Travellers Rest pub, turn LEFT onto a minor road, signed Whitley Chapel, Juniper and Dukesfield.
  • Follow this road to reach Whitley Chapel (here you will pass the school on your right and church on your left). Do not turn off the main road here but continue straight ahead, leaving Whitley Chapel.
  • After a couple of hundred metres, turn LEFT onto an unsigned minor road. (At this junction the road you were on bears right and downhill). You may notice an old sign reading No Through Road to Motor Vehicles – this is the correct way.
  • You are now on a minor road (no road markings). Ignore the first turn on the left (tarmac drive) and continue a few hundred metres round the corner to find us on the left hand side. You will see our sign at the entrance. Congratulations, you made it!
